ওয়েবমেইল

Webmail is the third face of AIOhPanel. It is a small, fast mail client for one mailbox, so a customer's staff can read mail in a browser without a mail program. It reads the account's Maildir folders directly, so it needs no IMAP library and shows exactly what Dovecot holds.

Signing in

Open https://<hostname>:2096/ (port 2095 redirects to it), or /webmail/ on a demo host. Sign in with the full e-mail address and the mailbox password, for example jane@example.com. The hosting panel has a Check Email button next to each mailbox that opens the same page. Wrong passwords count toward the brute force protection. A suspended mailbox cannot sign in.

Webmail has its own look, called mail: a top bar with the name Webmail, your address and Logout, a column of folders on the left, and the work area.

Folders

The Inbox and four standard folders (Sent, Drafts, Junk, Trash) are always there. Any other folder that exists in the Maildir, such as Projects.2026, is shown too, with sub-levels written Projects / 2026. Each folder shows how many messages it holds and how many are unread.

Reading and sorting

• The message list has columns for From (To in Sent and Drafts), Subject, Date and Size. Unread messages are in bold. Fifty messages are shown per page.
• The search box looks in the current folder.
• Tick messages and use Mark read, Move (to the folder you choose) or Delete. Delete from the Trash folder removes mail for good; from any other folder it moves the message to Trash.
• Click a message to open it. The message page shows the headers, the body (HTML mail is shown with scripts, frames and forms removed) and the attachments for download, with Reply, Forward, Delete and Move.

Writing

Compose has From, To, Cc, Bcc, Subject and Message. Reply and Forward fill in the fields and quote the original. Save draft keeps the message in the Drafts folder. Send stores a copy in Sent and hands the message to the server's mail system; mail to a local mailbox is delivered at once.

Sending goes through the same Postfix as everything else, so the domain's SPF and DKIM records matter. See E-mail in the Host Manager.

Settings

• Change password needs the current password and a new one. The new password works at once for Webmail, IMAP, POP3 and SMTP.
• Signature is a plain text box saved for the mailbox.
• Mail client settings lists what to type in a phone or Outlook: the user name (the full address), the host mail.<domain>, and the ports for IMAP (993 SSL, 143 plain), POP3 (995, 110) and SMTP (465 SSL, 587 plain).

Good to know

• Webmail shows the mail that is in the mailbox now. If a customer uses IMAP on a phone as well, a message deleted there disappears here.
• A mailbox over its quota still opens, but Dovecot stops new mail until space is freed. The owner can see usage under Email → Email Disk Usage in the hosting panel and clear old mail there. See E-mail tools.
• The default webmail client can be named in Tweak Settings → Mail → Default webmail client.
• Webmail does not need the Host Manager licence to be active: customers keep their mail even when the licence page needs attention.
